The term "cruelty-free" isn't regulated. Any brand can claim to be cruelty-free with no legal repercussions, which is why we investigate every brand using our strict standard. The CFK5 ensures the following:
The company itself doesn't test finished products or ingredients on animals.
The brand's suppliers don't test finished products or ingredients on animals.
No third parties test finished products or ingredients on their behalf.
No animal testing is performed when the law may require it, for medical purposes or in some markets.
We ensure the brands aren't available in markets which require animal testing, unless they're able to bypass these tests.
